Wine Time

I love wine. Not as much as makeup but it's definitely a love of mine. I like collecting it and talking about it and of course drinking it. I wanted to start a new series on here talking about my favorite wines at the moment. If you follow me on Twitter, then you know I'll post when I find a new one that I like. I love to browse the wine isle of any store. I look for the sale items and bargains because that's how I usually spot a new one. I'm attracted to cool labels as well.

I have to admit that I'm kind of a wine snob. That doesn't mean I only drink $25 bottles, not even close. But basically I'm picky about what type of wine I drink. Price really doesn't matter to me. Matter of fact, I usually don't buy anything over $12-15 since it's usually just me drinking it. I LOVE to get a $15 bottle for $10 or under! Bring in my latest find - Clos Du Bois Pinot Noir. (Pinot is my fav) This is a California wine. I've had both 2009 and 2010 years and they taste the same to me. I found this at Kroger on sale for $8.99, it was $10 off! I would have never paid the full price for a wine I hadn't tried before.

Notes from the label: "Our Pinot Noir exhibits aromas and flavors of ripe red cherry, raspberry and cranberry enhanced by hints of vanilla and spice from aging in oak barrels."

What's your favorite wine?

  1. Pinot is also one of my favorites. Greg Norman Pinot Noir is devine but hard to find. As for whites, I'm a Riesling fan. Chateau St. Michelle is one of my favorites for that variety. One of the stores near me does a twice a year wine tasting. It's huge and they discount the wines you taste so you can purchase a bottle (or two or three.. LOL) if you like it. I've found that the very expensive wines don't always taste better then the ones in the price range that you mentioned. Looking forward to others that you like.

    1. Hi! I've seen Greg Norman but not sure in the Pinot Noir. I'll keep an eye out for it. Chateau St. Michele used to be one of my go-to for Reisling but I've since moved on to Pinot Grigio for whites. It's a good brand though. :)

  2. I LOVE Pinot Noir! I'll have to keep an eye out to see if it goes on sale at Publix! If you're looking for a good red with a great price point, try Cupcake Red Velvet! It's me and my hubby's fave red to sip on at night!

    1. Hi Lisa! I *think* I've tried that one but not sure. I know it was the Cupcake brand. Publix has a great wine selection. Again, I browse for the sale items looking for something new. Yes, love me some Pinot Noir! xo

  3. I'm usually a white wine drinker. HOWEVER, I tried a red wine this past weekend that I'm just crazy about. It's the Rosso Dolce Roscato. Very nice!

    1. Hi~I used to be only white and sweeter versions as well. Then my taste developed and now I'm really into reds. Pinot Noir is a great one to start with. I'll look for the one you mentioned for sure, thank you!

  4. Oh I love wine too! :-) Pinot Noirs are so great! I'll have to pick this one up the next time I'm at the store. My husband and I are into Malbecs now too. Alamos has a good one. I think it's $10-12 and it's awesome! Have also heard that the Layer Cake line is really good but haven't tried those yet.
