Review: 25mm Clipless Curling Iron & World's Fastest Styling Iron

Hi everyone! I recently uploaded a video talking about two great styling tools from Jose Eber. I had been on the hunt for a clipless curling iron for quite a while now. This one is great! Also, if you think all flat irons are created equal, think again. I'm showing you The World's Fastest here. They were kind enough to offer a 15% off discount code to all of my viewers: CRYSTAL15

You can find the entire line of products at Jose Eber Hair

If you'd like to see my first day hair and second day hair using the Clipless Curling Iron, check out these recent OOTD pics.

Sally Hansen White On

Nail of the Day ~ White On by Sally Hansen

I'm not sure how I feel about this polish. I've seen it on others and thought it would be the perfect white. Not to mention I usually love Sally Hansen polishes. I seriously should have taken a picture after the first coat to show the nightmare on my nails. Streaky is an understatement! It looked like I'd painted white out straight from the bottle. It didn't even cover some of my nail. If I tried to go back over it, an even bigger mess. I stuck with it though because I thought there is no way that so  many use this without having a good outcome. The second coat was much less streaky but still had some "bald" spots. You can slightly see them in the picture above. To add to the frustration, it started to chip the very next day. If anyone has a good recommendation for a white, non-streaky, cream polish, please let me know. At this time, I really can't recommend this one.

Review: Urban Decay 24/7 Naked Liners

I purchased this travel-sized set from Hautelook a few weeks back while they were featuring Urban Decay items. You can also buy this set for the same price of $19 currently on the Urban Decay website. These liners are known for their staying power. Their name says it all. You'll get a few minutes to play with the liner until it sets and once it does, it's there until you take it off with makeup remover. These liners are great for those with allergies or watery eye issues or oily skin/eyelids.

The Colors:
Stray Dog ~ Deep gray {shimmer}
Underground ~  Taupe with a purple undertone {shimmer}
Bourbon ~ Light brown {shimmer}
Demolition ~ Dark brown-black {matte}
Zero ~ Black {matte}

The Size:
0.8g / 0.03 US oz
The original size is 102g / 0.04 US oz

I already own Zero and Underground in the full size and really like them both. I've actually been wearing Underground a lot lately because of the slight purple undertone it has. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of these shades. They are neutral but with a bit of color that really work with any eye look or on their own. The value is great considering you get all 5 for the price of one full size.

L to R: Stray Dog, Underground, Bourbon, Demolition, Zero

I took this picture to show color but also so you can see the size compared to my hand.

Casual Weekend Outfits

Casual. That's how I'd describe our weekends most of the time. I'm either in running shoes and work out wear, jeans and a t-shirt, or casual dresses like these. When we're doing a lot of running around, I like to be cute but comfy. These two dresses always come in handy when it's hot or I don't want to feel too fussy with my outfit. Seriously, they both feel like wearing pj's. These are a must-have when you might be carrying some monthly bloating. :)

I wore this out Friday to do some shopping before dinner.

Cardigan: Belk {last season}, Dress: Kohl's {recent}, Sandals: DSW {last season}, Bag: Louis Vuitton, Watch: Anne Klein, Bracelet & Necklace: Macy's, Sunglasses: Ray Ban

I wore this out on Saturday for running errands and grocery shopping. Probably one of my favorite dresses that I own.

Outfit: Derby Day...that wasn't

Where I live had a Derby Day event. This was basically a downtown type thing where a few streets are blocked off and basically a street party happens. It sounded great on paper. This was the first year for it so we had no idea what to expect. There's an annual street fair {the same spot} in the fall that attracts thousands and it's always a good time.

So of course I start planning my outfit. I live in The South after all so I thought I'd go ahead with the hat and all. I love hats. I already had a wide brimmed sun hat so I thought I'd just dress it up a little with flowers. Well as the day neared, I had this odd feeling that this event wasn't going to be as big of deal as it sounded. We got dressed anyway. Luckily I only had Hubby put on some plaid shorts and not something more crazy. It was going to be around 90 degrees that day so I wanted to be comfy. I put on a simple dress. Didn't go overboard with shoes because we'd be walking around and still wanted a somewhat casual vibe since it was a street fair. It was a dud to say the least. We did a drive-by to feel out the situation. There wasn't hardly anyone there! WTH? Where were all the people, Mint Juleps and 5 big screen TV's they advertised? We drove home, lol. Luckily it's only a few miles from our house. We laughed, changed clothes and went to eat Mexican since it was Cinco de Mayo. Thought I'd share what I wore anyway.

Sally Hansen Speedy Sunburst

Nail of the Day ~ Speedy Sunburst, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

Loooving this color for spring & summer! I've probably had this one in my collection for about a year I'm guessing. I typically buy this brand and formula when traveling. 1. because it's inexpensive 2. great color choices 3. dries quickly 4. if something happens to it I'm not heartbroken

I've just stated above all the reason why I love this polish. I own several and just picked up a new shade {coming soon!}. I know some don't like the wide brush but I happen to love it. Coats the nail with one to two easy strokes and you could easily get away with one coat if you're in a hurry. I'm not always great at explaining shades. I'd call this one a coral/bright pink. It's one of those that I can't stop looking at my nails. Gotta love that!

April Favorites ~ hair + makeup

For those of you that subscribe to my YouTube channel, you're already familiar with "Monthly Favorites". For those that may only follow my Blog...here's the rundown. Each month we talk about our most used products for that month - our favorites. They could be new items or old stand-by's. I usually post these on my channel but of course my camera wanted to be a pain and not focus. Seriously, I spent 30 minutes or so playing with the settings on that darn thing. Not sure what I was missing this time. I know so many of you have commented on the great quality of the last few videos since using my DSLR camera {thank you!}. While I love the camera for photos, it's such a pain in my rear for good video. {I know a few of you out there that can relate} So here's a peek into what I loved using this past month. Let me know what some of your favorite products have been. :)

~Eyes~
NYX The Runway Collection in Champagne & Caviar {love this, don't use it enough}, L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner in Carbon Black, Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Underground {I've had this forever but started using it again and LOVE it}, for days when it's just lip gloss & mascara: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara {trying to use this up}, Too Faced Shadow Insurance {the only eye primer I've used in months}

~Blush, Bronzer & Highlight~
L to R: Cargo Waterproof Bronzer for contouring {has a slight shimmer but looks good this time of year with some color}, Josie Maran Blush/Bronzer duo in Flushed/Contoured {mainly used the blush, the bronzer is really dark}, Benefit Coralista blush, Tarte Amazonian Clay Highlight in Champagne

~Foundation & Concealer~
L to R: Cover Girl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation used as concealer{been doing this for months now}, Bare Minerals Foundation mixed with a small amount of Well Rested to tone down any redness. This works great! You could also dust a small amount of Well Rested directly onto red areas before applying any powder foundation.

~Lips I've been loving!~
L to R: Rimmel Moisture Renew in Coral Shimmer {I bring this back out this time of year}, NYX Waterproof lip liner in Nude Pink last seen here, Bourjois Effect 3D gloss in Rose Angelic {discontinued}, Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Pink Me Up last seen here. For days I only wear gloss & mascara: Tarte Lip Surgence in Sweet, NYX lip balm in Shukran, Milani Crystal Gloss in Fruit Punch

~Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner for Color-treated hair - Shine ~
I bought this on a total whim one day. Sure, I've used Pantene off and on throughout the years but have never loved it - til now! This stuff is amazing! No joke. Y'all know I LOVE my Alterna but let's face it, it's pricey! I don't feel as guilty using this and it makes my hair SO shiny! I know several of you mentioned my hair {thank you} in some recent videos. Well this is the secret. It gives great shine w/out weighing it down. I have fine hair and I just love this. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

*All products can be purchased at Ulta, drug stores or Sephora with the exception of Bourjois*

Haul ~ Affordable Spring/Summer Dresses!

When I say affordable, I kid you not. All of these dresses came from Target, Kohl's and Old Navy! (some were on sale) I often find I'm hit or miss with all of these stores as far as fashion goes. Each year it seems I'm always on the hunt for new spring/summer dresses. I love wearing them because they're easy and cute at the same time. Plus that, it gets really hot here in the South and sometimes a dress is just more comfortable than shorts. And to add to that, I don't always love the way I look in shorts. So, below are some of my new finds and how I'd possibly style them. I didn't want to actually show them on myself. Thought I'd save those for future outfit of the day (OOTD) posts. :)

Kohl's - (size medium) It was love at first sight with this one! It looks even better on. Very flattering faux wrap style. It's busy so I would just pair with earrings and probably navy heels or wedges and cute clutch. Find it here
Kohl's - (size 8) I thought this was a very simple but cute dress that could be worn to all sorts of events. Would look great with bright coral jewelry or add a bright cardigan. This is on my list to possibly wear this weekend to the Derby Days event. Buy it here
*Update* I returned this after it just sat in my closet
Target - (size small) I've seen this for months but kept passing it by. This style comes in several patterns and color combos. There are two color-block ones that are awesome but I thought this gray/black color would get more wear and not be out of style as fast. I'd either wear as is or pair a bright belt in red or yellow. Buy it here
Old Navy -  (size small) This is actually a bright true red in person. The camera makes it a tad orange. This fits so nice and is one of my favorite styles with the elastic waist. I think dresses like that drape nice and are flattering. I show this with a leopard belt but you could also wear a wider tan or brown, anything really. I'd wear this style of belt with heels and a more casual belt with wedges. I ordered it online (that's why it's so wrinkled) here.
Target - (size small) This didn't look like much on the hanger but I gave it a try anyway. I'm glad I did. It's so flattering on! I have a similar wrap style like this from Loft and I actually like this one better! I paired it with a green belt because I knew right away that's how I wanted to style it. The belt is also from Target. You could do so much with this dress. Wear it with heels and a cardigan to work or church. Wear it to a wedding or pair with a wider, more casual belt and wedges. It comes in several colors. Buy it here.

Kohl's - (size small) I bought this in the store, liked it so much that I went back to buy in the pink stripe. Had to order online here.  I wore this the other day with a pink cardigan. Pushed the sleeves to my elbow and put on some navy sandals. I was comfy but still cute.
