Styling Hair with a Flat Iron for Volume

Hey there! In my latest video I show you how I style my hair with a flat iron but also manage to get volume and lift. Most of the time I can get this without teasing, which is a bonus.

OPI Live and Let Die

Nail of the Day ~ Live and Let Die, Skyfall Collection by OPI 2012

Let me start by saying this entire collection is coming out at a great time. It screams "Holidays" to me with all the glitter, metallic and colors. I really only wanted a few of the colors so I chose to get the mini pack with four shades - Golden Eye, The Spy Who Loved Me, The World Is Not Enough, Live and Let Die. The mini pack is $12.50 at Ulta and each are 3.75ml.

Live and Let Die is a deep greenish black with gold and green fine glitter. In the bottle it looks slightly blue so I was surprised how it looked on the nails. Covers great with one coat, looks best with two of course. It was a little hard to get great pictures because the glitter doesn't really show up on the nail unless you are in sunlight. Of course we didn't have sun the day I shot these pictures. Also note, I wore this a few days before shooting so you may see the tad bit of wear on the tips. I'm very happy with this color. A great one if you love deep shades.

My Favorite Mascaras

I recently posted a video on my favorite mascaras. I don't know about you, but I try a lot of them. I think that's just a product that we're all looking for the next best thing hoping we'll get amazing results from. Let me know in the comments what some of your favorites are. :)

Spoiled Bite Me

Nail of the Day ~ Bite Me by Spoiled

Ok, I had to laugh while I typed the title to this post. Please don't be offended, it's actually the name of the polish, lol. First, I just want to say that this is a great dupe for Essie  Decadent Diva. I think I had mentioned before that I love that color but wasn't sure if you could still get it. Well, no need to worry because now you can get this one. It's a deep burgundy brown with a red shimmer. It's beautiful on the nails. Application however was a little tricky. The first coat went on a little patchy on some nails but not all. It looked great with two coats though and you can't be the price - $2.99 at the drugstore. I did have a little issue with the brush. It had a longer bristle that would get into my cuticle. I had to cut that baby off. The shape is nice and reminds me of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes.

China Glaze Ingrid

Nail of the Day ~ Ingrid by China Glaze

I bought this polish last year and as much as I love it, it doesn't get much use. I consider it more a "fall" color but you could definitely wear it as a neutral. It's a nice medium brown shade with a slight gold shimmer. You really only see the shimmer in the sunlight. Speaking of, I'm going to start taking a picture in the sunlight so you can see any shimmer that a polish might have. For example, my last post on Bogie had two colors of shimmer than I had never seen before. While sitting in a chair by the window one afternoon, I noticed it had beautiful green and red shimmer along with the silver that I already mentioned. I also mentioned Ingrid in my Fall Favorite Nail Polish video. You can watch it here.

China Glaze Bogie

Nail of the Day ~ Bogie by China Glaze

If you watched my Fall Favorite Nail Polish video, you saw this one. It's by far my favorite dark purple. I like it because it has a slight silver shimmer to it that makes it not look dull on the nails. I don't own a lot of China Glaze polishes, but the few I do have, I love! They wear really well and apply easily with two coats.
