June Ipsy Bag Review

Let me start off by saying I have never been a fan of the monthly subscription boxes and bags going around. Honestly, I thought it was silly that people actually paid money for basically what amounted to sample sized products with a full size thrown in now and then. {most of them complaining about the bags each month as well} Not for me. Until now.

This is my FIRST Ipsy bag or any kind of bag or box for that matter. What prompted me to finally try Ipsy vs the other subscriptions were all the great reviews I had read about and watched videos on. Every month people were showing full-sized products and good brands at that! I think last month's bag sucked me in with just the bag design alone, lol. Sadly I missed out on that one though. So here's what I got in my bag along with my thoughts, some swatches and the total cost of what my bag would have cost if purchased separately.

All bags are slightly different depending on your own beauty profile you fill out on the site. Some items are the same brand but colors will vary. I think I lucked out with mine!

Here's what my bag had in it:
1. NYX Rouge Cream Blush - Boho Chic - $6.00
2. J.Cat Sparkling Cream Palette - SCP107 - $4.49 {color not listed on site}
3. Starlooks Lip Pencil - Tickle Me Pink - $12.00
4. Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter - $18.00 {lid/cap looks different on the site}
5. Cailyn Line-Fix Gel Eyeliner - Iron - $21.00
Total = $61.49

I only swatched a few items, the ones I really like. Lets be real, the sparkle eyeshadow palette looks like it's for a 10 year old. I didn't bother opening it and will probably toss it into a bag to donate. The eyeliner is really great and I'm sure I'll get a ton of use out of it. I love a gray liner! As you can see from the other swatches, it hung around even after wiping it off with a tissue. Yep, that one doesn't come off until you take a good makeup remover to it. The lipliner is a beautiful pink color. Again, I plan to get a lot of wear out of it. Not sure what I think of the highlighter. To me it looks more like a concealer pencil. I'm going to try it out several ways though. I'm most excited about the NYX cream blush! What a beautiful color! I might even try to wear it as a lipcolor. That totally made the box for me.

So for the $10.00 I paid for the monthly subscription fee, I think my bag is totally worth it! I'm looking forward to future bags. If you've been on the fence about trying a monthly subscription bag like I was, I don't think you'll be disappointed with Ipsy {formerly My Glam Bag}. Do any of you already get Ipsy bags? What are your thoughts about this month's bag?

FTC Disclaimer: I paid for this subscription service with my own money. I am not being paid for this review. All opinions are my own.

  1. I have gotten the "glam bag" now Ipsy since they started. I do look forward to it each month and I have found a bunch of brands/products that I have repurchased full sized that I probably wouldn't have known about if I hadn't subscribed. I didn't have the eyeliner in my bag. I had a travel sized sample of the Pssssst dry shampoo...which is fine b/c we use that normally in our house so it's something nice to throw in our bag for on the go. I haven't cracked open the eyeshadow either b/c let's face it...that is A LOT of glitter for a girl on her way to 40...:)I gave it to my 12 yr old daughter! I did get the cream blush which I have other NYX cream blushes that I like so that's good...the highlighter I find to be a bit creamy and thick. I used it on my brow bone and I had to really work it in b/c it left a lot of product stuck to my eyebrow...not a cute look. I'm more of a lip gloss wearer so I didn't even try out the lip pencil...I may, if not, I will find it a good home somewhere (probably my mother) I did love the cute bag this month!!! But I do have quite the pile of little ipsy bags collecting! I usually use them to travel and put jewelry in, or high ties, bobby pins, girly bits that you need monthly to tuck into my purses, that sort of thing :) I do find that normally I use most of the products in each bag each month. Always a few duds but mostly I have enjoyed them!! And whatever I don't want/like/use my little girl is happy to try out or stick in her collection "just to have" :) I will look forward to seeing your thoughts each month!

  2. This was my first month with Ipsy too! I loved it! I got all the same products that you got. I had birchbox for about 3 months and cancelled it, it was a rip off compared to Ipsy! I also love a gray liner, I wore it yesterday, it stayed on all day for me and was a little difficult to get off! Glad you enjoyed yours as much as I did. Oh, and I'm saving the glitter shadows for Halloween :)

  3. I already threw the glitter eyeshadows...LOL. I have worn the eyeliner ever day since I got it. I love the brush and everything! Perfect.

  4. This is my 3rd Ipsy bag and I've been pleased with all 3. I received most everything you did, except for in place of the eyeliner I received the pssst dry shampoo spray. I did open the sparkle eye palette and swatched, it's a sheer sparkle, so I think it could work for evening, to just highlight a bit on your lid. Definitely not day wear! And I love the cream blush! I'm going to check out other colors on NYX site. Have fun with your bag!

  5. I have been getting my Ipsy bags for about 6 months and I love them and look forward to it every month

  6. I have been getting my Ipsy bags foe about 6 months. I love them and look forward to them every month!!

  7. We've been thinking about getting this bag too. You did get some great stuff. That NYX cream blush is so pretty! Thank you so much for all of your feedback regarding the Clarisonic. I really trust your opinion as you have so much background in skincare. I did get one today at Ulta. I had some Ulta dollars and got 5X the points. I'm excited to give it a try.

  8. I used to get this bag when it was My Glam Bag. It wasn't too great so I discontinued it. This looks better. Glad you're liking it! Stacie xo
