August Beauty Favorites

Hi everyone! It's Friday as I'm typing this. SO ready for the weekend and the start of College Football! Y'all know we love our football here in the South. ;) I'm also getting ready for vacation soon and totally looking forward to it.

So on with the favorites. Not too many this month as I was trying a lot of new products, but I did have some definite stand-outs that I think you'll enjoy. :)

My Favorite Highlighters

Hi Everyone! I've been doing a smaller version of Monthly Favorites more often. In these videos I take certain categories and list my favorite products, ex: mascaras, blushes, bronzers, etc. I've had a few requests lately to show my favorite highlighters. This is a product I never used much because up until a few years ago, I had oily skin. Kinda made my own natural glow you'd say, lol. Now that I'm getting older, I've found a subtle highlight can look very flattering and bring out the features I want. What are some of your favorite highlighters?

Collection Overview | Lipsticks

Hi everyone! A few weeks ago I was looking at my lipstick collection and noticed how many colors I just don't wear. There's probably a few reasons for that - I buy a lot of lip colors and the Muji drawers that house my makeup are really shallow so I don't get in there much. So to help out the situation, I went through all of my lipsticks. By putting them all together and really looking at what I had. This helped me to easily weed out the ones I'm not wearing. I ended up clearing out something like 18 lipsticks!

If you'd like to see my collection up close and which are my favorites, I show them all here in the video. :)

August Ipsy Bag Review

Hi everyone! I just received my August Ipsy bag yesterday and wanted to get this posted for you ASAP! I have yet to see any other bags for this month. I think it's cool that we all get somewhat different bags depending on our beauty profile. Let's take a look inside...

What's Inside:
1.  Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick {sample} in Anarchy - full size $22.00
2.  Michael Todd True Organics Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub {1oz sample} - full size $18.00
3.  MICA Beauty Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in 17 Bronze - full size - $14.95
4.  Pixi Beauty Lash Booster Mascara {sample} - full size $17.00
5.  Chella Dazzling Dark Brown Eyebrow Color - full size - $18.00

Total $89.95

There are a few full-sized products here and other generous sample-sized products. I really enjoyed the Chella brow highlight pencil from my first bag. I think I'd like this brow pencil too, but it's probably too dark for me. I'll see if I can work with it though.

The pigment is very pretty. I don't wear a lot of pigments anymore so I may pass this on to someone else. Great color and full size though!

The lipstick - I love the color! It totally reminds me of my favorite bright pink - Maybelline Fifth Avenue Fuchsia. It's a good-sized sample. It's very pigmented and has great shine. Looking forward to wearing it!

Looking forward to trying the mascara. Who doesn't love a new mascara sample?! I find they always last much longer than expected for the size, too. As far as the Michael Todd scrub, not sure I'll use it. This may be another product that gets passed on to someone else. I know there are a lot of people that use and love the brand, I've just never been into it. Nice sized sample though.

Overall thoughts - the bag was great! The lipstick and mascara made it for me because those are two items I love and I'm always trying new ones. What did you get in your bag this month?

FTC: This bag was purchased with my own money. I am not being compensated for this review.

Chanel Taboo

natural light

I only own a few Chanel polishes but have been more than pleased with them...until this one. I hate to start off on a negative note, but this polish is nothing like I thought it would be. I get that from time to time but this was surprising to me. I immediately knew it would be mine when I spotted it in the display. It was unlike anything I had. Well, I'll let you be the judge if you think the color in the bottle looks like the nails or maybe it's just me.

A little hard to describe - in the bottle I would have said a deep burgundy metallic with purple and pink micro glitter. On the nails, it looks straight up like a deep purple. {I have deep purples. Several I really like, too. Didn't need another.} It applied nicely in two coats. It was a tad hard to keep clean around some of the cuticles since it's so dark. It looked navy blue on the cotton pad when I removed it. Oh, and it chipped on two nails within two days. Is this review crazy enough for you yet, lol? It's a beautiful color, I was just hoping for the color in the bottle.

Review: e.l.f Flawless Finish Foundation

Hey everyone! Today's post is a foundation review. I think foundation is one of those products we're always looking for the perfect one. Everyone wants to have great looking skin, right? In my case, foundation helps me achieve that. This is one I found at Target. Very affordable. If you haven't tried anything from e.l.f {eyes lips face} you should! They have some great products. Don't let the low prices scare you away. Have you tried this one yet?

If you'd like to know what I'm wearing, I list the products in each video but you can also check out this post where I give more in-depth information and placement.

FOTD + July Favorites

Hey everyone! I can't believe that July is over! Where has the summer gone? I'll admit that I'm usually more than ready for fall but not this year. I feel like I haven't had a chance to enjoy summer to it's fullest. I have enjoyed some "summertime" products lately though. I feel some of these things just naturally make an appearance this time of year.

I also thought I'd include my FOTD {face of the day} for this video. I'm trying to be better about doing these types of posts since I get a lot of questions on what I'm wearing.

If you've watched any of my makeup looks before, you know I'm not real precise with the eye looks. I only really do that if it's a special occasion or I need to make my makeup last for a really long time. As I get older, I'm finding it's a hard balance between too much makeup {what I like} and makeup not making me look older. No one wants that!

FACE - Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation {trying this out for the first time}, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW15 mixed with NW20 for under eyes {my go-to}, Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer in Light for any redness or acne scaring, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent to set the concealer and my t-zone, WnW Everything Under The Sun {LE} as Bronzer, L'Oreal True Match Blush Baby Blossom

EYES - Rimmel Exaggerate Shadow Primer, WnW The Gilded Age {LE} - I used the pink all over the lid and the brown in the crease, MAC Mylar as a brow highlight, Chanel Marine liner on the lower waterline, Maybelline Brown Gel Liner on the upper lash line, L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara {top & bottom lashes} with Jordana Best Lash Extreme on top lashes

LIPS - MAC Whirl liner {one of my all-time favs} Revlon Pink In The Afternoon lipstick, L'Oreal Florid Pink Gloss over it

I always think the makeup looks better in high def on film. Again, I'm not using my DLSR camera for these pics. Please watch my July Favorites to see what other products I was loving for the month. :)
